INSIDE DREW LEAGUE’S FOUNDATION’S COMMUNITY CELEBRATION

The drew league foundation community day was held on Saturday August 2^nd at Charles Drew University, and it proved to be a true celebration of community, culture, and connection. The event had health care vendors, food, giveaways and fun entertainment

for the kids, youth and adult alike.

This fun event was proudly partnered by Suburban water system on their mission to strengthen and support the community. The attendees were eagerly lining up to receive giveaways of free t-shirts, backpacks and socks. This community event was also sponsored by International Institute Of Los Angeles, Metro, Los Angeles Sparks, Our Legal Connection Inc, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Los Angeles Dental Hygienist Society, LA County Department Of Mental Health, Public Works, WEH Enterprises, MLK Community Healthcare, NCR Foundation, Painted Brain, Special Needs Network Inc, St John's Community Health, The Maker's Hub, Alinea Medical Imaging, American Red Cross, Alter Care Line, Black Women For Wellness, Children's Institute, Maxine Waters, Compton Wellness Collective and Brothers Against Banging Youth.

King Drew high school were also awarded as classic champions for their outstanding performance in basketball. This community day proved that when people come together with purpose, powerful change can happen both on and off the court.

The president of the Drew League foundation Angela Culpepper shared that they were doing great things for the community and are going to continue doing great things for the community.

Another notable public figure in the event was congresswoman Maxine Waters. She insisted on using social media as a platform to talk about the needs in the community and all the improvements it can make.

Angela also thanked Next Level 247 for coming through to cover the event. The crew worked behind the scenes to cover the energy of the games as well as the heartfelt speeches that were shared.
