The ULI Urban Marketplace marked its 25th anniversary with an unforgettable evening of, reflecting on a quarter-century of innovation, collaboration & transformative impact and shaping the urban landscape of Los Angeles. This milestone event brought practitioners in transit, finance, private-public partnerships, upzoning, affordability and much more to share expertise on elevating neighborhoods. “My favorite thing about the ULI Urban Market Place is its phenomenal legacy over the last 25 years,” the ULI LA chair Ryan Altoon stated, “but it's true extensive convening people together to actually make a deal and make a difference.” This statement showcased building stronger business connections to help grow the industry.

The event honored Michael Banner who is the founder of Los Angeles LDC in his commitment to ULI and what he has done and achieved for the organization. In his speech after winning the award, he mentioned that "a deal makes a difference in a place that you do not happen." He added, " and that's the challenge of being able to push forward for al of us to be thinking about how we have a more equitable society and how e have more equitable outcomes for everybody." Branden Mcbirney who is the Berkadia - ULI LA Co-chair thanked him for showing how to make a deal and make a difference in the industry.
